The Gamlingay Resource Centre/Gamlingay Library Access Point has been launched for your benefit. Volunteers have come forward, been trained and are willing to assist you in the Centre. With a tremendous commitment of resources from the Village College, the Parish and District Council's the room is fresh, smart and welcoming, and all the Library books are NEW.
THERE IS A WARNING TO ALL VILLAGERS, HOWEVER
The Centre will only thrive, indeed only survive, if it is used. Statistical
records are being kept, reports have to go to the bureaucratic powers of the
County Council, and you all know what that means.
If you are interested in being a volunteer to help keep this resource open, in the evenings from 5.00-9.00pm, or on Saturday mornings 9.00-1.00pm, please contact one of the following: Jackie Hough: 651 070, Paula Edmiston: 261 749, or the Parish Clerk: 650 310 For all of you who have kindly saved your beautiful books for the benefit of the village, we are now in a position to receive your donations. Please note that only books in good condition will be catalogued and included in the collection, and any duplicate copies will be made available for sale to raise funds for the purchase of new books. We do have to raise funds to keep the centre open, and will be holding fundraising events as well as applying for financial assistance in the form of grants. We would also like to receive video donations. Please note we are unable to accept periodicals such as the 'National Geographic' or 'Which', due to restrictions in storage space. If in doubt, please ring before bringing heavy loads into the Resource Centre. Thank you, to everyone who has made this relaunch possible. A special thank you must go to our District Councillor, who has worked incredibly hard to ensure we have a library facility in our village once more; thank you Sebastian.
